Inside Sales / Applications Engineer
Gericke North America is seeking a detail-oriented Inside Sales / Applications Engineer to support our Sales team at our Somerset, NJ location.
Job Description
This role focuses on supporting the sales organization by preparing accurate, timely, and technically sound proposals for powder handling equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with Sales Engineers, customers, and internal engineering teams to develop solutions that meet client requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of powder handling applications while playing a critical role in the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sales team by preparing detailed commercial and technical proposals for customers.
- Review customer inquiries, specifications, and RFQs to determine appropriate equipment and system solutions.
- Collaborate with Project and Sales Engineers to clarify requirements and align on proposal strategy.
- Develop cost estimates, pricing structures, and delivery timelines for proposals.
- Generate proposal documentation, including technical descriptions, layouts, and supporting materials.
- Maintain and manage CRM data, ensuring all opportunities, quotes, and customer interactions are properly documented.
- Assist with customer follow-up activities, including revisions, clarifications, and providing additional technical information.
- Participate in internal meetings to review pipeline, project status, and sales opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Gericke equipment and powder handling solutions.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Engineering background or current engineering student; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in inside sales, applications engineering, or technical sales support is preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and interpret engineering requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple proposals and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer-service mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Enjoys working with numbers and data while collaborating with colleagues and customers to develop practical solutions.
- Spanish language skills is a plus.
